About Us

At Cou-Cou Theatre Productions, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre — whether that’s performing on stage, working behind the scenes, supporting a production, or simply being part of the audience.

We produce exciting, professional-standard theatre shows at venues across the Fylde Coast, creating opportunities for local children and young people to perform, develop their confidence and explore the world of theatre.

Our productions give young performers the chance to experience what it’s really like to be part of a big-scale theatrical production. From rehearsals and costumes to lighting, backstage work and performing in front of a live audience, we aim to create an environment where everyone can learn, grow and have fun along the way.

For us, putting on a production is about much more than what happens on stage. Our shows bring people from the local community together. Whether it’s helping with costumes and props, assisting backstage, supporting rehearsals or lending a hand in the run-up to the big performance, there is a place for everyone. We love seeing our productions become genuine community projects — bringing together people of different ages and backgrounds with a shared love of theatre.

Performing in a professional-standard production can be a hugely rewarding experience. It can help young people build confidence, develop communication and teamwork skills, make new friends and discover talents they didn’t know they had.

Together, we want to inspire the next generation of theatre lovers!

One of the things we love most is the opportunity to perform on different stages across the Fylde Coast. Every theatre is different, and every stage brings a new experience. Our productions allow local performers to experience a variety of venues while giving audiences across the area the chance to enjoy high-quality, community-focused theatre right on their doorstep.

Cou-Cou Theatre Productions is about creating memorable experiences, developing talent and bringing people together through theatre.

Whether you're a young person who wants to perform, a parent looking for a creative opportunity for your child, or someone in the community who would love to get involved behind the scenes, we'd love to have you as part of the Cou-Cou family.

Together we're creating theatre opportunities for the Fylde Coast — one show at a time.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGE TO OUR COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Notice first published on the website: 14 September 2026

We are proposing to update the formal objects of COU-COU THEATRE PRODUCTIONS CIC so that they more clearly reflect the community work the CIC carries out and intends to develop for children and young people.

The proposed objects will continue to focus on benefitting children and young people in Blackpool, the Fylde Coast and surrounding communities. They will expressly include providing accessible performing-arts opportunities such as theatre, drama, dance, music, film, workshops, rehearsals and live performance.

The changes will also make clear that, where appropriate and where resources allow, the CIC may offer reduced or subsidised fees to help children and families who may otherwise face a financial barrier to taking part.

The CIC also intends to organise fundraising events, performances and community initiatives. Funds raised, together with grants, donations, sponsorship and any surplus generated by the CIC, will be reinvested into its community purposes. This may include subsidising participation and meeting costs such as venue hire, costumes, sets, equipment, licenses, training, workshops and production expenses.

The updated objects will also expressly support regular performances and, where practicable, a yearly show giving children and young people the opportunity to rehearse, take part in a complete production and perform for families and the wider community.

The CIC will remain a Community Interest Company operated for community benefit rather than private gain. Any surplus will continue to be reinvested in activities and projects that further the CIC's community purposes.

Comments or questions

If you are a participant, parent/guardian or another person affected by the CIC's activities and would like to comment on the proposed change, please contact us through our usual contact details by Monday 28th September 2026.
